The language of Cambri... - 01.17.2010
You are quite talkative of late! Not much of what you say makes any sense to us, but it must mean something to you! Some of the more notable things you say:
"Da da da da da"
sometimes quietly almost as if to yourself, and other times at full talkin' volume! I tease mommy that you're saying "Dada" (not "da da") and that technically, it's your first word (even though I know you're not really saying "Dada").
"ma ma ma ma" or "um um um um" (can't figure out which)
This is just in the last few days you've started really saying it... I think you're just testing out new sounds, but mommy teases me that you're saying "Mama" and THAT is your first word, ha ha ha!
Kissy noises
You make kissing noises quite a bit, most often when you see one of the cats! Can't decide whether you're just doing it, or whether you're imitating the sound we make to you!
Squealing
You are a SQUEALER! Constantly screeching, especially when you are excited about something (again, it's usually the cats).

Best Christmas Gift Ever! - 12.22.2009
Daddy put you in a box and took your picture under the tree just before your very first Christmas! You got a little bit cranky towards the end, but there's lots of good pictures! We love you, Merry Christmas, Cambri!

This is the first time you were given anything other than formula or milk. It's rice cereal, which isn't like regular cereal - it's tiny rice "flakes" in water, and it's mushy... Daddy tried a little, and so did Mallorie... |

4 Month Vaccinations - 12.08.2009

We took you to the doctor today for a four-month check-up, and you did great! You weigh 15 lbs. and 15 ounces! That's almost 16 lbs, you're getting soooo big! You were very cheerful and talked and laughed a lot until it was time to get your shots, but even then, you didn't cry too much... you're very brave!
Here's a video of you getting your shots. There were 2 of them, and I don't think you even noticed the first one. It's always tough to see you cry in pain, but sometimes a little pain is worth it in the long run. |

Mommy has heard you laugh, but Daddy hasn't gotten to see it yet, until now! This is the cutest thing I think I've ever seen... Took this video with the cell phone, which leaves a lot to be desired. We'll try to get better video soon! |
Cambri and Delilah - 11.29.2009
Delilah (a.k.a. Mama)was nice enough to let you pet her! I think you liked that she was soft and squishy. Gravity got the better of you, and before we knew it, you were laying on top of her, but she was a good sport about it. Very cute...

Happy Birthday, sort of! You turned 3 months today, and already, you're amazing us with the things you can do! You've gotten so big, and already, we miss the days when you were smaller, but we're looking forward to seeing you grow and learn... Every day is bittersweet! We love you Cambri!

Your First Halloween - 10.31.2009
Although you're too young to remember this down the road, we had to dress you up for Halloween. You were so cute in your little tiger costume. Daddy painted a black nose and whiskers on you to finish off the look! It all got wiped away in about 15 minutes, but we all thought you were extra sweet. You had fun sitting with Nana and Poppy, gurgling and cooing as they bounced you!

We took Cambri out to greenbluff for their annual growers festival (pumpkins, apple cider, that sort of thing). Didn't get any pumpkins or apple cider, but we did get some photos of the family and Nana and Poppy with our girls!

Grandma and Grandad come to visit - 08.06.2009
Daddy's parents finally got to meet you today! They are very excited, and they love you very much! I think Grandad has a weak spot for baby girls and he really enjoyed holding you and feeding you a bottle. Grandma was likewise happy to finally get to see you, and I hope you get to know them well. They are great people, and will undoubtedly be great grandparents!

Welcome Home Cambri! - 08.04.2009
We brought you home today! It's the most amazing thing to finally see you and get to be with you in our own house! We've tried to decide who you look like. I think you look like your mom, and she thinks you look like me! I bet you won't even look the same after just a few more days!
To be in the room when you were born was the most intense thing I've ever experienced. I've never been happier, but at the same time, I've never been more afraid. I cried for a good two hours after you were born... because I was just so happy that you had finally made it.
Right now, you're laying in the swing, rocking gently back and forth, perfectly content. Earlier, you took a nap with me in the rocking chair for quite a while. It's amazing the way you look right at us, as if you know who we are.
We're very tired after the last few days, but we're too excited to really sleep. You're absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't have hoped for a better baby. You had a rough couple of days too, with everyone poking and prodding you all the time. But when I first met you, I grabbed your little foot and told you "Don't worry, it gets better". It does.
We love you Cambri.

Got the nursery painted! Hope you like the color pink! We did one wall a light pastry-box pink, and the rest a light beige/tan color. Goes well with your pink and brown bedding and the espresso-finish crib and changing table/dresser!

We went in for another ultrasound today... starting to look like something other than a bean! Currently referring to it as "little boo"... will be great to find out the sex in a few weeks!
